About Michael Fallan
Michael Fallan is an 80s songwriter at heart — driven by melodic, thought-provoking compositions, meaningful lyrics and a passion for classic songwriting.
Originally from the north of England, Michael moved to Los Angeles in the 1980s, performing and writing with bands including 7% Solution and Adrian’s Wall. During these formative years, he worked closely with the exceptionally talented guitarist and composer Richard Preston, who had previously worked with members of The Cutting Crew and other prominent bands. Preston’s influence and mentorship helped establish the foundations of Michael’s musical knowledge, songwriting and technique.
In 1989, Michael travelled to London seeking a record deal, meeting with Resi Kashfi of Virgin Records. His songwriting was praised as tightly constructed and “water-tight,” but with Virgin already heavily committed to new artists, a deal never materialised.
The writing, however, never stopped.
Over the following decades, Michael amassed hundreds of original songs, each fully composed on piano or guitar, with lyrics, melodies, chord progressions and arrangements completed long before production.
Many remained unheard until old demo tapes were rediscovered, capturing the songs in their original, unpolished form.
A purist at heart, Michael believes every song should be a complete artistic concept before entering production. He views AI as a modern extension of the traditional recording studio — a means of producing and enhancing original compositions, never replacing the creative process itself.
